No, I haven't called them.  I tried that months ago and got the recording about how they don't take cardoholder-initiated requests.  Since that's been confirmed by everyone else who's ever tried it, I didn't figure it would be worth even trying again.

I just have to be patient, I guess.  I'm not planning on closing it, though.  It's become a battle of wills at this point.  My white whale.

Also, I do love my Target card.  My Target card just doesn't luv me.

It's on my "when I dare to app" list.  Right behind a gas rewards card and one good, solid "prime" card (since I now know my USAA card just ain't in the majors).

I rec'd a CLI on my Target Visa a few days AFTER I was told on the phone that they couldn't do anything for me.  I like to think I at least put a bug in their ear.

My CLIs went something like...  2002, opened card w/ 200CL...  2004 (I think) it went from the red to the visa and to 1k, and then in 2008 boom...  1k to 5k.

Random is one word to describe it.
I pretty much abused my Redcard the first two months and they gave me a CLI, but then I got wise and paid it off, and now I get no love. And it's not like I don't use it. For the last two months I've used up about 60-80% of my available credit and then paid it before the statement date. C'mon, Target, where is the love?

My guess is that Target is kind of like high-class trash,... they don't reward good behavior, because they plan on your being fairly credit-dumb middle class and using the he!! out of your card. Then once they see you're beating the card up and paying a mid-amount, they can give you a CLI, so you can use the he!! out of it again...

as long as you make the right kind of payments - not quite PIF but also more than min due - I bet they will reward you.

They kind of want you to show that tendency to get in a little bit of trouble, know what I mean?\

Anyone willing to test my theory?

had mine for many years and it was always $200... Never changed or waverd... Always allowed $200 in my budget to pif every month..Kept me in check with them...

Same with macys card... I initialy had a $100 cl, they immedatly cli to $500 when activate card, and i want it left there...

Store cards (cept lowes and sears) should have low cl, imho.... Cause if you're going to spend big, a regular cc is better and usualy will have a lower intrest rate (unless there running a 0% apr special and you can pif in that time frame)...

Ok, that seems valid. I think I got confused by the OP. it sounded like it wasn't an available option and now they allow you to request it. Maybe I read into it wrong.

I know target is your white whale......I want to see you conquer that WHALE!!! So I can cheer for ya!

I've been maxing out my target card and pif every month since 2006 I grocery shop there I love it ,but like many others they don't love me back I've never gotten a CLI in over 2 years of using the card. I think I'm going to sock drawer it for like 2 months and see if they miss me enough to give me a CLI

They are building a Target very close to me now. My guess is it is going to be a massive store. I won't make any decisions about my Target account until I see this store. LOL.

Does anybody know how I can find infor mation about future Target stores? I'm in South Las Vegas.
