perhaps they actually thought you sail on the good ship pa. either way i'm betting you comitted some sort of fraud by "certifying" that you met the eligability requirments. seriously don't mess with these guys. tell the you read what you were attesting to after the fact, but read it nonetheless and you don't qualify and don't want to be thrown in leviworth. i'm not joking!

yep I agree with you buy how can they make that kind of mistake

and send me the memebership packet with access number

They do run a credit check and do back ground check before sending the information.

It took them 10 days to send me that packet so ofcourse they have checked

few things before sending me that.

Re: lol and lol and lol and lol and lol again :)

It just seems you are looking for any excuse to keep your credit card with NFCU.  You were wrong for even applying.  You were wrong and no matter who you want to blame, when they do their annual reviews of accounts and when they eventually find out you are a fraud, you will face the appropriate criminal charges.  If you are smart you will just call and tell them you misunderstood the requirements and wish to cancel your account, you could even ask them to change their hard inquiries to softs since you were wrong for even applying.

Just for your reference, if you want to go over the Eligibility checklist again, i provided it below.  That crap about your "room mate" being in the Navy wont work as well.

P.S  I am a NFCU member from being in the Marine Corps for 15 years.  I have been deployed for 8 of the 15 years, while my wife of 13 years has held down the house with our four children while i was gone.  I have been to Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, Yemen, Ethiopia, Eritria, Sudan, Kuwait, 2xIraq (currently in Iraq even as i type this response), and various other places during times of war and peace.

It honestly just gets me a tad upset that you start this big "drama" post just to tell us all that you applied for something by lying.

Eligibility Checklist

Navy Federal's Field of Membership is determined by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). If you are in any of these categories, you are eligible to join.

  • All Department of the Navy (DON) Personnel—regardless of location or rank, including:
    • Active duty Navy and Marine Corps
    • Reservist, regardless of drilling status
    • Civilian employees
  • Contractors assigned to DON sites afloat or ashore
  • Officer Candidate programs, NROTC, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
  • U.S. Government—Military and civilian personnel employed by the U.S. Government assigned to, stationed at or working at a Navy installation, afloat or ashore
  • Retired—from any of the categories listed above
  • Family—including:
    • Grandparents
    • Parents
    • Spouse
    • Siblings
    • Children (includes adopted, foster and stepchildren)
    • Grandchildren
    • Household Members

Once your family members have joined, they can extend the membership opportunity to their family members, too.

Re: lol and lol and lol and lol and lol again :)

You are wrong again Ash.  I remember that post as well.  The person's Grandfather passed away and he called and talked to the NFCU representative about it.  He explained how their Grandfather was in the Navy but passed away and he wondered if it was ok to join NFCU.

You see the difference here?  He was up front with NFCU he told him his situation and he explained that his Grandfather passed.  Of course NFCU would honor the memory of his Grandfather and allow his grandson to join NFCU.  I hope that my time in the Marine Corps can benefit someone in my family the same way, even if i have passed on.

You on the other hand lied about being a DON Civiliian and your USS PA remark.

but still it is unethical. I know somewhere applied for navy and told

that his grand father was in the navy. That is not good either.

Tim. What do you think I dont realize that i made a mistake.

I said in few threads that I feel so bad that I cant sleep at nights

and I am cancelling that card.

I know Navy People have worked really hard to deserve NFCU membership.

I feel I am too old otherwise I would join the NAVY.

Like I said on the other thread.  We all know what ash did was wrong.  Ash knows this also.  He will give back the card and we can move on to bigger and better things.  I think all lessons here have been learned.

Right ash?
