1/2013- CareCred for $3400 Balance of $700

Past accounts

2005- Car loan from before BK and thats paid off still reporting

AU

Amex $1000 Limit

Cap1 $5000 Limit

Cred1 $1100 Limit

Credit History 8 Years

Public Record-1 (From an old Apt complex, from 2007)

I plan on applying for the Discover IT $150 Cash back on $750...(what are my chances? how is the recon department?)

I want to apply for a rewards card? (Capital One Venture, or Chase Sapphire, how is the recon department on both of those?)

I would love Amex, but what are my chances? (No recon department from what I've read)

Discover is great at recon tho you may not get the best rates..........as long as you PIF not a problem

Cap1 venture IMHO don't do it .....This is their top tier card and IMO you'll be denied with only recourse being EO

Chase Sapphire and I'm assuming you didn't mean CSP would also result in a denial but Chase has the best Recon out there.

Amex......Does not like baddies especially BK's at all but has excepted other type of baddies

Cards to consider Barclay......... BK friendly

CAP1 quicksilver......will do 3 HP's

Walmart.......Great for scores and if you shop there

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: looking to apply for my first real CC..

Im going to refi my car, and apply for discover IT and then decide between Chase Sapphire or the No AF Venture. I feel like my history with cap1 might help me if I need to call the EO.

Re: looking to apply for my first real CC..

Chase will discount the AU history in their internal scoring. Since you do not have any rev cc history, I would not waste the HP.

Amex likes at least 7-8 years post bk before they will approve.

Discover, IMO is not good with recons. Rarely have I seen them overturn a computer denial.

Your bk was 2008/2009 and since then there is a settled account which does not bode well.

If, there was a cc I would start with QS1 and/or Barclays.
