@UncleB wrote:My new card came in the mail today (not requested, sent automatically). I activated it, then checked my Lowe's dashboard and I was still at "bronze" status. 🤔 So I deleted the card from my profile and signed out completely. Then I signed back in and added the card back to my profile as a payment method, and lo-and-behold, "silver" status was achieved.
I'm surprised they didn't code the website to care for those of us who are already have a Lowe's card, but it was easy enough to remedy. Of course, I'm sure there will be people who won't think (or bother) to remove then re-add the card, which is a shame. (Silver status is useful since it gets you free standard shipping, which is especially helpful to me since I no longer live near a Lowe's.)
Thanks for this!! I just did the same and am now Silver too! I'm not sure how much it will matter with my Lowe's usage pattern, but I'll take free status any day. It will certainly be handy if I need to order anything.

The info on the site is a bit confusing... they make it look like folks who have a Lowe's credit card are automatically at Silver status ("Credit Cardholders and Verified Military Members start here"), but that doesn't seem to the case, at least for me (I'm at bronze). 🤔
I have an update on this...

Thanks for sharing UB. Received my new card a week or so ago. Sure enough, I'm Bronze status. I tried to follow your directions but I get hung up at deleting and adding a card to your profile as a payment method. I can't see anything that allows adding a card as a payment method. I don't believe my advantage was ever added as a payment method so I don't think I have to remove it, I just need to add the new card. Thanks!

Hey @ptatohed, I may have used the wrong terminology; the card is added (or removed) from the 'wallet' section. I think of the whole thing as the user profile, but they do have separate 'wallet' and 'profile and preferences' sections, at least on the regular website. Apologies if my incorrect use of terms caused confusion.
You add the Lowe's credit card to the 'wallet' section just like any other credit card, and after the number is entered and you click/tab to the next field the expiration date field will disappear (at least on desktop), all they need is the CVV. They sent a 'ping' to the card for $1.00 (whoo-hoo, my alerts still work!) and once this was done my status changed to 'silver' (and they sent an email about that 'upgrade' as well).
Hopefully this helps!
(Here's a screenshot of my dashboard)
Got it! You're the best, thanks UB @UncleB !!
I did not understand it either... it looked like just a rewards program. I was not willing to change. My old card still works. I still get 12 month interest free on big purchases. Thank you for posting this because I thought I was the only one that didn't see what the advantage in changing to the new card was. Maybe one day they will make me, but for now I'm sticking to the old card.

I don't think you have a choice, right?
@ptatohed What is the reference to "starting on March 7, 2024" mean? Since that date was six months ago or am I missing something?
Lowe's rolled out a rewards program this year and it sounds like the Synchrony cards name is being changed and the card is being tied to it. It is a point based reward program that lets you earn 1 point per dollar spent, and at 500 points you get a $5 off Lowe's coupon. So it's basically 1c per dollar redeemable when you have $5 worth of points. More money you spend, the more points you get per dollar:
My Points Calculation.
My Points will be awarded on Eligible Purchases in accordance with a MLR Member’s corresponding MyLowe’s Status. MLR Members in the Bronze Key Status will earn 1 My Point per dollar spent on an Eligible Purchases; MLR Members in the Silver Key Status will earn 1.25 My Points per dollar spent on Eligible Purchases; and MLR Members in the Gold Key Status will earn 1.5 My Points per dollar spent on an Eligible Purchases.
The points you get do not include tax, so it is based on before tax cost.
Thresholds are $500 for Silver and $2k for Gold in annual spend.
Sounds like the Synchrony Lowe's card is being changed to myLowe's Reward card and it give Silver status if added to the Lowe's app wallet:
MyLowe’s Rewards Credit Card Holder Benefit. MyLowe’s Rewards Credit Card (‘MLRCC’) holders will be upgraded to Silver Key Status, and have access to Silver Key benefits, when their LAC is saved to their MyLowe’s Rewards Wallet.
Overall I think it's a good thing for Synchrony card holders. The Lowe's phone app got a big update and works pretty well, you'd have to add the card to the wallet on the app to get the automatic Silver status.
I'm interested in what's going to happen to the Amex Lowe's business card I currently have. It's 5% off like the Synchrony card, but also get 2% in reward points that can be redeemed for gift cards or applied to purchases at 1 cent per point. It is actually no longer offered on the Amex site, not sure when that happened, but bet it's related to this new Lowe's reward program somehow.

@AndySoCal , it is possible I was mixing it up with the keyfob thing.
Additionally, starting on March 7, 2024, the MyLowe’s keyfob card will no longer work to track your in-store purchases. In order to continue tracking all of your in-store purchases after March 7, 2024, please scan your Member ID, Wallet Scan to Pay, or provide the phone number associated with your account.
