i need some advice on getting a new card, well which one to get it dosnt have to be great just something that i can get lol my credit score is 663 equifax fico pulled today. currently i have a capital cash rewards card for 500.oo i just got it last month and it hasnt reported yet. 4 inquires listed no lates in 16 months. had a student loan co in 2009 which is currently being paid on.
anyone??
I'll chime in...you have 1 card, a 500cl Capital One? I personally would apply for nothing until that one reaches 6 months. One thing you really don't want to do is apply for a bunch of cards when you are first starting out. But if you are set on another card, I would look into a local Credit Union. They have a more personal touch and may work with you better than the big guys.
so a walmart card would be a no go??

When I first apped for the Walmart Card my scores were about the same as yours and I had essentially no revolving history and was denied. The reasons given were score too low and not enough revolving history. Others may of had better experiences in a similar situation as YMMV on such things.
But I feel the others are right. Let your Cap1 age for 6 months and then give it a go. ![]()
DCU secured card (digital credit union) / the end

I wouldn't do it yet. the 6 month suggestion will show other lenders you can handle a card.

I agree with codimom. Your score will improve dramatically with a positive credit card tradeline reporting for 6 months. If you have to do anything try for a CU card, but if that is denied wait for the 6 month mark. It really works! After 6 months with my first Capital One card my score improved by nearly 50 points (although I didn't have any baddies, so YMMV).
Good luck!
+1 I agree with SnackTrader. Good advice ![]()
