Re: new citi card?

disclosure says that APR will be the same as current citi card - no worries there

but "Noah" through chat session said that new double cash card would sadly show up as a new card on the credit report - then said "need not worry, everything is taken care of" - now i'm confused

Noah then wrote - "mean that the you wont lose the credit score you have made and we will take care of your card and will assist you in case if any issue." - so now I think the conversion won't effect my credit score?...

You cannot rely on that confused response.

If it goes in as a new account it will cost you points in a number of ways, so don't do it unless and until you get absolute clear confirmation that it will not be reported as a new account.

I have product changed a card with Citi, where there was no new account... but you have to make sure it's going to be done that way in your case.

It's possible the CSR is ignorant.

It's possible the CSR is just trying to get credit for pushing a new account on someone.

Bank people in this day and age are always being incentivized to sell stuff.

IME: I have PC'd Citi cards several times, it has always kept the history and same account info.

No new CL ding.  They will usually even keep the same Acct. #

When I rolled the Simplicity CL into the DC card, they just closed the old Simplicity acct.

EQ still reports the closed acct. as open, so extra EQ Util. paddingSmiley Tongue

That's an unexpected perk...
