Im sitting here waiting for a litter of lab puppies to be born , sick of the news, Facebook has gotten just about as bad so I hang out here for something positive to do with my idle time!
I really dont need anything, im not financing anything so figured it was the best time to possibly add more to the mix!
Im in with NFCU ,, LOC seems to be only giving 500.00. not sure thats the best waste of a HP.
I am a member of Langley now also.
I perfer cash back cards as I dont fly. Rotating I have Discover and Citi for my other 2%
overall UTL is 21% and still going down EX score is still waiting for NFCU bal of zero to report.
Income, 6 figures, Self Employed.
last CLI on NFCU was in May.
I talked with Affinity FCU recently about their products. They have a nice Affinity Cash Rewards card with 5% back on Amazon plus rotator categories. I've read startling lines for the Affinity Cash Rewards can be in the 20k range and they also have a CLOC which goes out to 10,000.
You can apply for all of their products within one hard pull too over the phone if you would like.

Does Affinity take anyone for membership? Also, I am assuming a CLOC is a commercial line of credit i.e. for business?

You can talk to Affinity about the membership for out of state but its like an easy org donation type thing. You can chat online and they will schedule an appointment with you over the phone for an applicaiton with a relationship specialist.
The CLOC is for your personal checking account. Many on this board set up checking with NFCU because they've had a very nice CLOC product which goes out to 15,000. Lately however they've become stingy on the CLOC, offering low amounts and only increasing by $500 at a time with an overall max of $500. I've been making lump sum 13,500 payments (leave a little margin just in case) with the CLOC but you can't do that with a small CLOC value.
But Affinity still gives you a 10,000 CLOC and at an under 10% interest rate. The commercial banks often don't offer it. If they do you'l still be subject to an overdraft fee and a much higher interest rate.
Afinity .. HP or SP to join?

Affinity is HP but you can apply for Cash Rewards, Checking and the CLOC all in one pull over the phone.
Who do they HP pull? Fico 8 score or other?
Any other data points? Inquiry sensative? POI?
Due to NFCU's change of terms last year they only start you off with 500$ on their CLOC. You can apply and give any amount you wish but you may be straight up denied. It's best to call it in and request your amount with them because the rep was nice enough to explain that if you get flagged for more information, you have to give them another call back and agree to starting out with 500 or else it will be declined.
