While I get what you're saying, offering recons does not mean general good customer service. If you are declined there's a reason. maybe Discover doesn't feel they can or should override it instantly.I think people are just used to how flexible Barclays and Chase can be with their recon process and expect other lenders to be similar in that respect. Discover, CapOne and Citi tend to rely much more on the automated system IMO.
They all recon. I prefer to have my ducks (scores) in a row, before I app now. Capital one, you will get approved with a heart beat, everything else needs to go through EO. Even citi has an EO for the adventurous, though I don't feel the need for any of their cards ATM. Discover, just call analyst underwriting right after denied app, they do manual reviews.

During this time I called and expressed concern over my low credit line, was met with hp’s on both occasions for a abysmal $250 cli….later I would have them request 4056-t….on a $1500 line. When I called in to question the request I was specifically told that I was a “suspicious customer” and that discover had to protect themselves. I feel suspicious as I am a disabled veteran of foreign affairs, college grad (still attending MBA) and community volunteer.
No I am not bitter at Discover; I simply will no longer do business with them ever as they obviously do not fit my needs. Pardon the grammar, I feel like I just typed an essay but felt I had to clarify a few things. been up for 22 hours
You are certainly entitled to like Barclays better than Discover or vice versa.
However, by your own words it's clear that you deliberately made yourself a "suspicious customer" to Discover by retaliating with all those $11 BTs after they didn't give you what you wanted. Being a disabled vet or an MBA candidate has nothing to do with how Discover treated you. You yourself said you did those BTs to be funny. So be it. If that's your idea of either humor or revenge, then so it is.
But why on earth do you continue to pretend to be a wronged innocent when multiple members here have pointed out the obvious fact that YOU PROVOKED DISCOVER'S ACTION AGAINST YOU?
IMPORTANT DATA NOT FOR DISCOVER HOLDERS:
DO NOT PROVOKE DISCOVER WITH $11 BT'S
BUT YOU CAN MS 1,000'S ON BARCLAY AND GET MORE CARDS WITH SIGN UP BONUSES!
So you MS? Can we not go there?

Ok I got one. Is it true that when discover gives you get a CLI they don't give you your fico score the following statement. If so that's annoying how else will I know the effect it has on my score. I hate waiting.
They give you your Fico score but the month you get a CLI the limit does not get reported with the new CL so the Fico score you will get is still based on the "old" limit. You will need to wait until the next reporting to have the new CL on your report and therefore only at that stage you will see the impact the higer limit will have.
