Hello everyone
I recently got a mailer with a code and invitation to apply for Amex Prg with 50k mr points if 2000$ is spent in the first three months . I have a possible trip coming up in early 2017 and i could use 500$ for a newyork trip . So i did more research and tried prequalify offers through incognito chrome window and this time i got same PRG 50K offer but for just 1000$ initial spend. i took this offer and got approved.
Now my question is about using PRG to load Amex serve to pay car loan stallment & other bills. Has any one tried this and if i use prg to lead serve will it be considered as cash advance?
second question is after 6 months if i apply and get approved for everyday card ,can i transform Mr points from Prg to everyday and close PRG since i dont want to pay annual fee?
my third and last question is i remember reading an article which says that milage explorer App codes the purchase of a 100$ amazon gift card as airline fee expense and thus i can get reimbursed for that from prg yearly 100$ statement credit for airline fee . has anyone tried this? .
I am just trying to maximize what i can get from this card. i dont need this card with its hefty annual fee in the long run , i just need it for free tickets to NY . Please share your experience with this card. Thanks!

You don't want to pay a $195 annual fee on a card that gives you a $100 airline fee credit, free room upgrades, free hotel credits per stay, plus free roadside assistance, and a really good rewards program? I'll strongly advise against that but you do whatever makes you happy.

second question is after 6 months if i apply and get approved for everyday card try to get a 25k offer either wait for targeted or VPN ,can i transform Mr points from Prg to everyday and close PRG since i dont want to pay annual fee? your mr accounts will be the same and combined. you will get $100 now and $100 after jan1 in travel credits. FYI starting september 1st, you only have 30 days to get your annual fee refunded. and also at least in my experience they can be good with retention offers. I was offered either 5k mrs now and 5k mrs after spending 500 in 60 days, or 75 now and 50 after spending 500 in 60 days. Plus the amex offers are great especially if you have multiple cards. Just make sure you have each card pulled up in separate tabs before adding the offer. Right now they have 25 off 25 on hulu which is amazing!

I havent but yes it works, in increments of 50.

Please share your experience with this card. Thanks! flying blue is usually the best transfer partner for flights, such as 30k miles for r/t to hawaii even from the east coast, and it flys on delta, vs the 45k price direct thru delta.
cancelling this card in 6 months is not going to look good. i do not advise that. especially if you stumble upon a 100k plat offer and a 25k ED offer!
Good into so far... I'll just mention that many folks have had their Serve accounts shut down from loading with a credit card to pay bills, so I would only do this as a last resort and if you're not worried about keeping the Serve long term.
You might get away with it to make your PRG spend requirement, but after that I would personally tread lightly. In your case the spend to get the 50k MR points is only $1k, so I would probably avoid funding Serve altogether.
You have 3 months to spend a grand. my cell phone and cable bills put together for 3 months is a huge chunk of that. They accept amex, they earn mr points. Now municipalities bill pay almost never take amex, i get that. You also don't want to do some risky moves with a brand new card. A long-standing member loading a serve account up is not going to look the same.

I resemble that!! hahaha
Thanks every one for your inputs. I agree with some suggestions here that its not worth taking risk with serve account loading etc. i dont want a FR from amex. i guess i will just use amex for everyday expenses and meet the minimum spend. right now im using discover and quick silver for all my expenses like rent, utilities etc for rewards. i can use amex for a while instead of them. btw i tried purchasing amazon gift card with mileage plus x app from united , amex processed the transaction no problem , but got some error from united mpx app. did some research and found out that i have to wait for a week after i create a new account with mileage plus programme before purchasing anything through them. there is 1$ pending charges on amex for this failed transaction which probably wont post. but after 7 days i can buy up to 100$ amazon gc via this app and it will be coded as united airlines expenses as it is showing on my pending charges & will be reimbursed. i will probably wait right before the annual fee hits to close this card . i really dont want to pay af. i want the 500$ tickets to ny like i said. i probably will apply for everyday after 10 months or so.
im glad that amex provides experian fico 8 . i have transunion fico 8 and bankard equifax fico from synchrony and citi . i was wondering if there is any card that provides equifax fico 8? thanks for your inputs again. please keep it coming

So you'll pay a $39 annual fee on your Quicksilver One, but won't pay $195 for a card that actually has the annual fee pay for itself and then some... Alrighty then.
