Re: radio shack:

I have the Radio Shack CC from 1984, one of my oldest open accounts still reporting (0 balance, only 300cl).  Never used it.

Re: radio shack:

I had one. They were slow with automatic credit limit increases. I finally canceled because Radioshack is too expensive anyway.

Re: radio shack:

Never asked for cli - I purchased my first cell phone from them at the time - anyone remember the overly bulky big "analog only bag phones"Smiley Very Happy.  Nearly forgot about that.  Had been trying to remember why in the world I would have Radio Shack in the first place.

Re: radio shack:

I have a Radio Shack card, too.  Got it in 1994, used it here and there.  Paid off the account in full in 2002, haven't used it since.  Wrote them a GW letter due to a 30-day lates, they removed the lates, increased my CL to $1800 from $1500, then closed the account 2 weeks later.Smiley SurprisedSmiley Very Happy  I'm wondering if I should call to see if they could reopen it for me, just so I could have another positive, open tradeline.  Or at the very least, have them report it monthly to EX (they just report to my TU and EQ).  Would this be a good move, or might I be risking getting the TL deleted?  Can anyone out there weigh in on this? Smiley Tongue

Re: radio shack:

There's so many informative people here...can anyone give me any insight?  Even if it's just about getting EX to report this TL?  I have a total of 22 accounts-12 open, 10 closed.  EX won't delete an old collection account (Apollo-$52, original amount $13, paid immediately, over 5 years old).  I'm thinking that getting EX to report this good TL would help my boost my score a little.

Re: radio shack:

It might help a little, but that is so weird about them removing your lates and giving you a CLI, and then closing the account, that who knows what they might do if you asked to re-open?

Re: radio shack:

I know...I don't get it.  I may just leave well enough alone.  I don't want them to delete the TL-like TU did when they deleted a positive, but closed, AMEX TL when I was disputing inaccurate info on an old Spiegel account.  They said that there was nothing that they could do about it and to call AMEX.  Well, I did, but AMEX no longer had the account info!Smiley Mad
