restricted cap 1

I am.new here so please forgive me if I sound redundant. But from what I've read my situation sounds a lot more strange and crazy-please help: I have 3 cap1 cards. 1st 1 open in 2008 2nd 1 open in 2012 and the last 1 in 2 months ago. Cap1 restricted all 3 accounts bcuz I "broke the rules". I have not been late or over the limit this year on any account. Honestly my utilization is high..my queation: why approve me for another card 2 months ago with a 500 cl. If u restrict my account 2 months later bcuz I was late and over the limit year/years ago? I was told my account went through "security review" within their fraud dept..what does that mean? Also, if I apply for another cap1 card-what are my chances in being approved due to this restriction? And, will that account be subject to restriction? Lastly, does other creditors see the account is restricted?I ask bcuz I'm sure they share info...PLEASE HELP, any useful info is appreciated

Re: restricted cap 1

Welcome! I can't answer this but hopefully some senior members will be along shortly. Maybe Cap 1 has a two card limit per person?

Re: restricted cap 1

I have only known cap one to restrict card if you become 90 or more days past due. this is odd. did you ever have any return payments? The only answer is to wait for correspondence from their fraud department that says you broke a rule and if it is not detailed enough or you are unsatisfied after that try reaching out to the EO. and the limit for number of cards is 3 personal and 3 business i think (this does not include co-branded cards and HSBC , Orchard accounts that were transferred).

Re: restricted cap 1

Hmm, that makes sense..sadly I was on the road to slowly fixing my credit.. I figure it's best to wait 6 months get the balances down and reapply for another card with them..can it be subject to restriction again?or will they turn me down bcuz I already have 3 accounts? Thanks for the welcome @callalilylover

Re: restricted cap 1

Thank u very much creditdrama85. No return payments. I was late 60 days last year in November on 1 card. The other one hasn't had a late payment since 9/2012. I'm happy to hear it doesn't include HSBC bcuz 2 out of 3 cards were originally HSBC accounts. I'm sorry EO??

Re: restricted cap 1

It does not matter how many accounts you got. Some people have 5 cap 1 accounts. 2 thru them. Others either co branded. Example. Sony visa. Or thru acquisition. HSBC. Orchard etc...

however. With fraud restriction. It's either. Bad income info. Or other unknown issues they perceived. You will not be able to open new accounts with cap 1until you clear this matter. You will with another bank. Good you are still paying on time. Late is not death of account. Neither is over limit. They charge you and move on. Wait till you get letter.

Re: restricted cap 1

sweetd, EO stands for executive office. they have been great lately about manual review of accounts for CLI and product changes. Eligibility varies of course but its always nice to talk to a real person that has more power than mainline customer service. You might be able to search the forum and find the number and process if you go that route.
