Man that really ticks me off. Approved for $400.00 from lowes. Now I almost wish I hadn't applied...I thought for sure it would be higher than that as my lowest score is 680. Oh well, I'll keep it clean and build some more history.

I started with the same back in October. I used it a few times and paid it off every month. Requested a CLI after the 4th statement cut and I got increase to $1150.
thanks rbh! Hopefully it wont take too long to build up a decent limit. At $400 I wont be able to put much on it before it looks maxed out.
BTW I just found out they checked TU. Now I really can't believe I got such a low limit. My TU score is 710 Funny how I'm ticked at such a low limit
when a year ago I would have been thrilled to get approved for half that The value of these forums is unreal!
don't feel bad I have a 735 and they approved me for only $400 too. no baddies lots of new accounts. I tried to get them to increase stating I wanted to fence up my yard and they still turned me down for a higher limit. Oh well. I just wanted a Lowe's card & I got it. I had tried last year & was turned down. I can get some patio furniture, maybe I want a Home Depot card too but I'll wait a few months to apply for that one. Like I read on here use the Lowes card and pay it off each month and then ask for a CLI. I've learned alot on this forum that's how I got my high score. Started before clean up in the 400's & then I had no score when clean up was complete but when I got a mortgage alot changed and my score started getting better & better. Our day will come.
That's what they gave me too last summer. I called immediately & let them know I was planning on getting a new fridge & can't get a thing for that amount. They gave me $1600 & have since, bumped me up to $2900.
Call them!
I keep applying online and keep getting declined. Is it better to apply in-store?
Did you apply online for the Lowe's account? If so, how long did it take for you to get a reply? Was the reply my mail or email? Just curious because I just applied a couple of days ago. Last year, I applied online but did not get any reply.
Thanks in advance!
I applied online and it took about a week to get the reply email from them.
yeah, I may have to call and see if I can get an increase....can't hurt to ask.
I applied on-line and got my response within a few mintues. My DH applied at the same time and it said we will email you or mail you a letter within 4-7 days. I didn't think that sounded too promising...
DW had a low limit for a long time and then she went to the store and wanted to make a major purchase and the salesperson called and got her a big CLI. IMHO it was the fact she was there and making the purchase was what got her the CLI. LOL and my almost too hard to hear question about Home Depot having the same item.
