In all seriousness though. Just dont use the card for purchases anymore. Do some BTs to it and slow pay them.

I'm sorry, I'm missing why you insist the OP shouldn't use the card anymore?

It's still a card with good rewards and a great shopping portal. So what? You have to use the Discover card on said portal. You can't double dip. Oh well. How is that a reason to not use the card anymore? The logic just isn't there.

But to each their own I guess. It's almost like you are saying OP should "punish" Discover or something. I just don't get it.

........

Hope they don't hit me too.

I only had one transaction, though it was for nearly $3k.

Well honestly, I went through the portal expecting to use my Disco. But when I got to the checkout, I was distracted by the Barclay 18 month 0% offer. I applied for it and was approved. I went back to the site and forgot all about the Disco portal.

The OP should discontinue using the card for purchases anymore because there will be no rewards paid until the balance reaches 0 again.

Right but in that scenario of no use OP would NEVER get the points fully paid back. And I would highly avoid closing out your account to try and reset the points clock. A great way to get blacklisted over probably $30 in rewards. The better way would be to buy some art at 1% cash back until you break even.

It was obviously destiny that stepped in for you on that.

Or maybe all those ads that stalk and interrupt us from page to page all the time really do work Smiley Very Happy

I think it depends on the negative balance.    If it is small, and OP doesn't have alternatives for the 5% categories, not using it  imay not make sense.   Now if it is hugely negative, then yes.
