this is not a thread to bash td bank in any way, but.. is it known that they do not like people with ALOT of available credit? ive banked with them, they improved their app. few years ago they gave me a 1K card closed it out of spite. re applied for a few of their cards recently declined, recon declined next day. my lowest limit is around 20K. TCL around 600K. cant get approved for a TD card to save my life lol but any other bank is like heres a 20K card. Scores north of 800. banked with them for a few years now, always good standing never overdraft. active checking, minimal saving account. is it the times, or they just dont like the available credit thing? the people ive seen get like 1-6k from them if their avail credit isnt. too high. What is your experiences? i like the banking side of td but the credit side 'hates' me (i know i know, were a number, they have no feelings, but literally).. they wont even throw me 1K LOL.
@Anonymous, I started with TD shortly after my Chapter 13 was discharged; at the time I parked some money in a savings account and applied for their secured TD Cash card with a $5,000 limit. I got the card about 10 days after I applied, and almost to the day six-months later, my card graduated to unsecured; the card has since grown to $11,500 via two unrequested CLIs.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
I opened a TD account and applied for their secured card after reading @Horseshoez posts a little over two years ago. It graduated with the $5K limit. CLIs might have been a HP for awhile. I recently noticed we can request it on their site (SP) so I did that about a week ago. Received a 7-10 notice message. My limit hasn't changed so I'm guessing it won't. I only use the card once in awhile so I can see them not doing it because of that.

I'm not a fan of TD Bank. I banked with them for years, and was continually frustrated. Could never accomplish anything online or by phone, continually forced to go into branch, which was inevitably a time-wasting experience. Eventually I pulled everything except my business credit card, which I dare not close at this time because (a) it reports to personal, which is ridiculous, and (b) I need the utilization padding.
I consider it a poorly run organization, and would not advise anyone to deal with them.
Lmao you do speak the truth.. Their like you can't answer one thing right? Phone channels locked go into the branch. Smh. But I definitely think their underwriting team is a-backwards and don't know how to underwrite. My opinion only. They need to be fired lmao but yeah you're spot on and funny af
And you have the ideal profile for them . Low avail credit. I'm guessing u got 5K by putting ur own money into it lol. Yeah they are stingy. I had a 1k card years ago and used it so much. Pif for a long time I took a hp and they have the nerve to give me a $750 increase LOL!
Take your denial as a compliment. TD is basically telling you why would someone want our really nothing cards with a credit profile like yours, Maybe a SUB chaser or card collector. Sure that TD knows you have far superior products and their products will have little usage.

I am amused. Never wanted a TD card, but looked up their cards because of your post. Saw they had a pre-approval checker, so for giggles I tried for a complementary denial and found TD is geofenced and not available in Michigan.
I am amused I was denied amusement.
as vast majority of thread believes many better cards than TD bank card. Long wait times calling in phone #'s, credit limits for very conserative to profile/income. They seem to want to be in the the CC business but just dipping their toes into it. Market could be dictating some of their low approval amounts as well. Had card for awhile as I was a collector of cards and got approved for either 6 or 7k I forgot but was certainly on low spectrum of my cards as average is 20kish+ with high end of 80k and many at 50k+ limits.
With that said to be fair got credit card for bank bonus and credit card bonus and never really used it but if they gave me a limit that I could actually use with a bit of comfort and room then maybe i would of used it more or maybe not? Many branches next to where I live in FL but many Chase branches, BofA branches, NFCU etc that certainly have better offerings and limits

It's not just credit cards, it's everything. They are just bad.
