Good plan. I have thier AA Gold WMC since last year, and earlier last month I've apped for the Exec and was denied for too many INQs. Called recon and went to 2nd manual review, still denied for the same reasons. Called again, and it seems like once your app goes through 2nd manual review, there's no third recon cause i've called like 3more times and they just said "well we said NO before so it's still a NO". I love that signup bonus, too!
how many INQ and who did they pull? Here in NV they have double pulled me for every application (EX and EQ). They always base it off the EQ score though for approval. I only have 9 INQ in the last 2 years which 6 of them are from Citi alone and i have been told they dont count their own INQs againts you.
Oh wow, didn't know that! You need to relocate lol I'm in Socal, and they pulled on EX for the app....and if you really have to know how many INQs at the time of apping for the Exec....it was around 34ish
well join the club cuz i have 31 on EX so even though they pull it also, they obviously dont care cuz they base it off my EQ score.
LOL We should start a separate club thread called "Executive EX 30+ INQ Club"
damn 30+ inqueries .. im nervous about applying with 5 on my ex and 1 on my eq .. only 2 are less than 6 months old. I only have one citi card as well. I just cant decide what I should do. I know Chase always soft pulls and looks at inqs and new credit. After hearing about all the closing of accounts that Chase does for like no reason .. im just kind of nervous.

Haha...yeah. I havent had any problems getting approved for Chase, BofA and Citi cards even though they pull EX. Amex is the only one who cares about the INQs. I have really calmed down the last 5 months though, have only 3 HPs...lol

well i guess its really more like ymmv. I have tried for the amex delta platinum 5 times in the last year and been denied all (SPs of course). Always the reasons along the lines of too many INQs and too many creditors have looked at my report. I was tempted to apply this month but havent yet since dont want to seem too desperate for them...lol
part of me really wants a second card cuz another 110k miles would be nice .. would put me at 260k but I got two cards this year and I am not sure if I want to push it

your credit is very good maybe even excellent. If you have low utilzation and good income i say why not? the worst they can say is no. Too good of sign up bonus to pass up.
Citi pulls my EX exclusively, I had 26 inq when I app'd for the Executive AAdvantage card in January, 7 in the prior 6 months. Citi doesn't necessarily look at inq over the last 2 years, it's the last 6 months you want to be at or below 6 inq.
I don't want to take away the importance of gardening (and should probably go in there some day), but who knows how long the 100k offer is going to be around? For all I know it could turn to fairy dust tomorrow, or it could grow. But odds are it won't last forever.

Very true indeed, but if the offer continues to make Citi prosper in every way, I'm sure Citi would love to drag the offer as long as possible, too.
