@Anonymous wrote:applied for membership......got a call from a rep....spoke to them about a CC......since I had one pull ....what the heck..... ......they seemed great on phone ...APPROVED 5000 CL at 13%.....
CSR said the score was between 690 to 720 pulled EQ
VERY HAPPY......
Should I close any my other accounts or just keep them running if I plan to get a AMEX ZYNC in the future ....(2014)
I have 1 HSBC discover about 5 years old Cap one about 4 yrs and chevron gas about 1 yr old..
Just want to make the right call when I go for the AMEX...Dont want to have too many cards..
thanks
You should leave them all open... Amex doesn't care about your other accounts as long as its not Credit One or First Premier.
What are you current scores and CLs?

Congrats! Great starting CL.
And I agree with webhopper - I would keep them all open right now.
Congrats! Likewise to the above posters; I wouldn't close any of the current tradelines, the C1 AF (if any) isn't enough to justify closing it immediately, I'd wait till post Zync in this case though the Discover/Barclays cards are definitely solid... which between that and the reported EQ score that the Alliant CSR pulled begs the question:
Unless your income is off (Amex cares), or if you have something wayward in your EX profile, what's the reason you're waiting till 2014 for the Zync app? I assume you've had an Amex tradeline in the past to be waiting that long, otherwise I'd absolutely make an application sometime this year if it's your first with Amex.
I have a bk 7 reporting from 2005 that will be about 9 yrs....I tried for a zync ad was shot down this past march....salary is not the greatest...around 40 k

Congrats, yes keep them open with a zero balance, I would not close them.

I think you may want to think about closing the Discover. HSBC Discover is considered a rebuilder card, plus you'll have more than made up for the loss in available credit with the new Alliant card. Not that it matters much, but what's the APR on the Discover?
I think the only two cards that won't grow much with you are the Discover and CapOne.
