visa signature

Does anyone know what is the minimum CL to have the visa signature logo on a card?

Re: visa signature

The amount depends on the issuer. It used to be a $5K minimum but not every lender follows that. I've seen $500 Visa signatures here.

Re: visa signature

The Chase Amazon Visa card is the one that issues Visa Signatures to  $500 CLs

Re: visa signature

And just because it says "Signature" on it doesn't mean that you will get all the benefits of the Visa Signature program.

Funny thing about that, I have over 20 bank cards all are over $5k (all but 2 are over $10k), all of the Visa's are "signature" versions, most of my MC's are World or World Elite. To date, I have never used a single "benefit" of the status-grade classification on any of my bank cards and I doubt I'm the only one that finds the signature - world (etc) basically marketing.

Exactly.  For all the focus on this board and posters worrying about whether their card is a 'Signature' or WEMC, very very few people have or ever will use any of the benefits.  It's as if some see it as a status symbol when it's nothing approaching that at all.  Card issuers like them because they can charge higher transaction fees to merchants.  As you said, mostly marketing.

Re: visa signature

The card association's have lifted all of the minimums that were previously required to issue Signature or World Elite cards. At one point World Elite was available exclusively to existing accounts that exceeded $75,000 in annual spending, that number continued to lower until it was eliminated altogether.

Re: visa signature

I think it was $5K, but my Chase Amazon card is a VS and the limit is $2200. The US Bank Cash + is also a VS, limit at $2800. Probably depends on the card.

Re: visa signature

I thought I read somewhere that Visa charges the merchant a slightly higher swipe fee for the Visa Signature than for the regular Visa, but I may be mistaken.  Does anyone know?
