next oldest are store cards that i opened in 2009
and the other cards i have they were all opened in the past 1 month so they will all be 2013i guess i'll wait to decide what i'll do until i find out what my application status will be from amex blue rewards which is in process with the recon dept
Good luck on the recon
Personally, i have mixed feelings on closing the Cap1. It's your oldest tradeline right now, and if you are mortgage hunting in the future, it would look better sitting on your reports open. You may not need it for util purposes, but looks better for a mortgage lender to see it opened in 2007, and not only new accounts recently opened. As others ahead of me suggested, contact Cap1 as a last resort to get the AF credited/removed. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

BOFA C.C opened 1/2003 AF 39.00 CL 500
2 First premier C.C 1/2003 Af 49.00 x2 CL 250 & 300
HSBC Discover opened 2007 AF 35.00 CL 300
Capital One C.C opened 2010 AF 29.00 CL 750
Considering to close
Capital One C.C opened 2007 AF 29.00 CL 2500
was it a good move to close the accounts?? they all were paid on time no missed payments etc..
I just felt I shouldn't be held hostage by the annual fees to help my credit score
Keep your Cap One card open because having one card with a long history open/active looks good on your CR
What other accounts have you opened? Did you try the executive office route? Or FB them? You can probably find a way to get the fee removed even if the CSRs say no!
There's nothing wrong with closing those accounts with annual fees if you are not getting more from the rewards than you are paying. This, of course, is if you have other CCs that will stand in their place. Many of us have started with rebuilding cards, that's what they're for.
July 19, 2013 Applied and approved for Chase Freedom
June 21, 2013 Applied for Amex Blue cash - Rejected but am going thru recon and results should be in by tomorrow
June 21, 2013 Applied for Bofa cash reward approved after speaking with their applications department questioning some information on my credit report
June 14,2013 Applied and approved for Discover It Card
June 30, 2013 Barclay's arrival card i received letter wanting to verify some information before responding to my application I did not call back
Closed accounts from june to july
1 Capital one card 750 CL annual fees (they call it membership fee to me) they said i'm not paying annual fees but i only have a membership fee lol
Bofa Credit card 500 Cl (closed this account believing i can convert it to my new card but unfortunately they said they can't do it even if they could but instead of converting the 500 CL to my new card they increased my new card to 5000 from the 1000 approved intital CL
HSBC Discover i tried for CLI and waive my membership fee (49.00) they said they are merging with Cap One and i didn't want to deal with Cap One representives again so i closed it
I am considering closing my other Capital One Card (2500 CL) if i get approved for the Amex Blue Cash card because I think carrying more then 4 Credit cards for me is alot and i'm not planning on using all of them just basic spend a dollar here and there for each card to keep them reporting
