Do you know your FICO scores?  If not, you can pull your EQ and TU scores here at MyFico.  That will tell you your utilization, your average age of accounts, and tools for what you can do to increase your score and manage your credit.

To calculate utilization:

Add all balances up = Total Balance

Add all credit limits up = Total Limit

Divide Total Balance by Total Limit and then multiply by 100

That will be your % utilization

I'm also curious as to how old you are and how old your accounts are..  morbid curiosity Smiley Happy

i did this and i got 6.017...

Re: was it a smart move?

I believe that your first score (on EQ) is free and there is a 7 day trial before your credit card is charged.  If you are serious about your credit and scores, I would sign up for Score Watch.  Go to the home page of this site to look at your options.

A good look at your credit reports and the associated education and advise will answer the majority of your questions.

I understand, but it's all good.  Read and learn.  ALL of your questions will be answered.  Read up on the things that are listed about FICO scores, credit building and rebuilding etc.  This site (outside of the forums) has a lot of valuable information about the basics of credit and how to understand it.

yes, Keep it below 9%, even lower is good so that you don't pay interest.
