Re: what happens if I don't use my new credit cards for a while?

I have small re-occuring charges tied to credit cards that I use infrequently. For instance, I have my myfico.com $4.99 tied to my First Financial Bank card which I never use because of their ridicuous 29.99% interest rate which they claim is the only APR they charge now. I don't want to close it because it's my oldest credit card.

So I have been going kind of crazy lately. I have gotten a dell card, JCP, express, and HSN card. There are all things I would love to buy with them, but since I have about 1000 dollars of credit card debt, I don't want to dig myself in a grave. Until I get all my cards paid off I am only using my debit card.

What are the odds of these cards getting closed if I dont' use them for a while? How do they report to the credit reporting agencies if I have never used them? Instead of an "okay" mark every month, is it just "no data" instead?

If I buy one item now and then paid it off, and then leave it for a year, how would it report?

I know for a fact that the JCP card will close after one year of inactivity. Not 100% sure about the other cards, but I would assume around the same timeframe, if not a little longer.

Hope that helps!

If you don't use your card it will show as n/d means no data if u don't use and keep them zero balance
