I don't think I've ever overpaid..hmm.
Those blokes bill me for as little as $0.01, and no billpay service (that I know of) allows you to send such a small payment so I usually don't have a choice. I mean without say buying a $0.99 Amazon gift card first or something. Easier to just send them a buck. I was just wondering what the exact trigger was, because this was the first time I've heard of this Chase trick. Handy for those ltitle emergencies.

try it out ? I have never paid more than the actual balance on a Chase card but would think it would also work and report 0 balance with a negative balance (but just a guess)
What about Barclay's and AmEx?

Why do you need a bill pay service to pay them and not just pay via their online payment process? They'll accept $.01 there.
Once Chase is paid to zero triggering a mid cycle update, how long should someone wait to use the card again to ensure they update? Maybe a day or two?
