nice im actually leaning towards the diamond prefered cause of the low interest i just wasnt sure if it was a lower tier card or not. just incase im not able to do a product change later i wanted to make sure i started out with the right card. there sending me pre selected offers every damn week for the diamond prefered lol
@Anonymous wrote:There used to be more definite tiers, such as the Thank You and Thank You Preferred, but not sure that the basic card is available any longer.
I think all the Thank Yous are basically the same (TY Pref, TY Prem and TY Prestige) UW, just different levels of AF. These are higher tier than Simplicity, but not sure if they are easier or harder than CDP for example.
All these cards come with a wide range of CLs (and APRs), so I am not sure your question really applies that much.
If you are not interested in rewards, probably the TY Preferred is as good as any. (Not that I would recommend Citi for rewards anyway!)
ok now where getting somewhere thats great info. now if i can just find out how the thank you prefered compares to the diamond prefered il be all set. i think im gonna end up choosing between those 2 cause the aadvantage is aimed for flying. i like jet blue i got my eye on the amex jetblue

The only useful rewards Citi has is their AA and HH cards, plus the prestige for those select few for whom it makes sense.
I can't speak for Citi, but Chase tends to give higher CLs for their co-branded cards. Citi may or may not follow suit.
longtimelurker i could care less about rewards but a low apr is a big plus

Why? Are you specifically looking for a BT card or something? If that's the intention then I would ask that question.

no not for BT's. sorry but i dont want to get into the reasons cause than people make judgements and then this thread will go in a whole nother direction. i just wanna stick to the subject
I was upgraded from a DP to a TYP about 2 years ago, if that helps. TYP was then upgraded to a TYP WMC. Still get offers weekly for a DP.

did the history carry over so it wasnt counted as a new account? i dont mind doin the same thing to be honest if its possible. i just wanna make sure i get my foot in the door and there already sending me offers for the dp. how exactly do you know its an upgrade instead of just a product change im just curious? did they automatically change it without you asking?
@johnpalley wrote:i think your wrong and heres why. from the research ive done people are more likely to have a higher cl with a chase saphire prefered than they are with a chase slate. the saphire is a higher tier card which is harder to get so there more genereous with cl. my question is does citi work the same way where theres higher tier cards? thats what im getting at, are the thank you prefered, simplicity, and diamond prefered on the same level?
The CSP is only available as a visa signature. The minimum visa signature CL is 5k. Therefore, every CSP CL is at least 5k, whereas Slate/Freedom CLs can be as low as 300. This might explain why you think CL is tied to the product.
There appears to be some anecdotal evidence of this on this thread (i.e. cobranded cards), but I'm not so convinced. Just my 2 cents

ive also noticed though some people have 50k limits with there csp. i havent seen those type of limits with the freedom. it does make alot of sense that cards with tougher requirements would have higher limits on average.
