why not to use bottom feeder credit cards

17+ days for a payment to post,

charge oct 2nd 17.95

charge nov 5th 1.00

Payment mailed october 10th

payment recieved october 23rd 17,95

total due 18.95....

no other charges on the card.......

and now i'm arguing with them about this telling them my bill should be 1 dollar......but thier saying 18.95

get a secured card if you must get a card. work on that for 6 months.  these bottom feeder cards are garbage. The SL is very low. They never grow and most have a MAX SL of 500 dollars....Get a capital one secured , secured from your credit union, the 300 SL that these have would go better using towards a secured card with someone reputable and who will treat you better.

Thats all carry on!

Re: why not to use bottom feeder credit cards

I agree!

Cap One is a full range provider now.

One can grow from $300 to 3000 to 10000 in a year or two.

Hang in there.

Rebuild started in 2014  -  $100k unsecured credit in 2017  -  $500k unsecured credit in 2024.

DON'T WORK FOR CREDIT CARDS ... MAKE CREDIT CARDS WORK FOR YOU!

I'm just hanging on to these 2 cards (surge and total) because they are my oldest accounts. Its been real hard not to just close them because of stuff like this. I kinda need them until these other 14+ cards get some age on them. I just hate using them even to buy a candy bar to keep them reporting something. Its such a long drawn out process for the billing and I'm constantly having to check to make sure the check posts.

I absolutly love my cap one cards that i have! i paid on the 15th via the app and it was posted on the 16th!!!!

I couldn't agree more with the OP. Those scummy lenders (loan sharks?) like First Premier make my skin crawl. Avoid like anthrax.

yes they have online payment but because of billing issues i would never put my bank account on it. I'd soon mail a check that way i can prove the day it was written, cashed and always have that hard copy.I have zero trust

I still keep a checkbook regitry, write out checks, mail them. Im old school LMAO.

I don't even have auto bill pay for anything and still have paper bills that come to the house for everthing Smiley Sad i dont even have online banking. I know i could use it but i'm so worried about trasactions that may not have showed up yet and i may think i still have more than what i have. So i keep track of every penny. I visit the bnk every friday and talk to the tellers. I dont use a debt card. I have one but it sits in a drawer.....I do have direct deposit. Smiley Very Happy

The CC's i just got is the most Ive ever had and this is the most credit Ive ever had avalible to me. but i had to rebuild somewhere and i didnt want to do secured (i wish i did now) because i love my money to much.

+1

Back when my QS1 was still HSBC/Orchard, I quickly learned to always use my bank's bill pay - and to avoid the Orchard bill pay or mailing a payment at all costs.  When you 'push' the payment from your own bank, it prevents them (the card) from doing any 'shenanigans' with the posting.  Smiley Wink

Capital One taking over that account was one of the best things financially that ever happened to me!

I had an Orchard card and never had any issues with payments...

Re: why not to use bottom feeder credit cards

If more than a couple of your other 14+ cards are bank cards (MC, Visa etc not store cards) then I think it's safe to let that piece of trash go even if it's your oldest . It will still report for 10 years after closing. In 10 years, having it disappear from your report will have minimal impact on your credit profile.

Just let it go, it now gives you zero benefit and all of the headache. Cancel it, burn it Smiley Happy
