Thanks writemikep,
I will be pulling my TU and EQ in a couple of weeks to see what kind of changes I might see. For right now there is not likely to be a huge change since I already have a good AAoA and age of oldest account. However, next May I will lose a large number of 15-20 year old SL accounts which will drop my AAoA drastically :-(. This reaged Amex will help that a great deal!
Cheers
Okay you guys are making me antsy!
I haven't applied yet, as I decided to refinance my house at the end of this week. The inquires from 7/14 have fallen off and 2 more drop today. My scores now qualify for the best mortgage rates, so it makes good financial sense to wait until the mortgage closes.
I just have to keep telling myself not to push the apply button. Back away from the keyboard!
Pulled my TU and EQ FICOs today. My TU jumped up to 814, my EQ stayed at 816.
They both show the length of credit history as 'Great', and they have both been updated with my re-aged AMEX info.
My recently opened accounts are the only neg thing (three accounts, will all be one year old by Nov 1st). No INQs on either TU or EQ.
Congrats writemikep, That is a nice increase in you TU score! I am hoping for something similar.
Cheers
In looking at my reports here, both TU and EQ both only give me a 'Very Good' for amount of outstanding debt.
I have a balance on one credit card (out of seven cards) of $290 (2% UTIL on that card), and I have one installment (auto) loan, that is about 55% paid down (from $23k is now $11k). My overall revolving available credit is about $67k.
I don't have a mortgage right now (but still have a TL for my last one, altho that is a closed account and amount shown is $0).
I can only guess that the remaining auto loan amount is the thing keeping me from a 'Great' on outstanding debt, altho I'm very happy with my scores, so this is a very nit-picky issue.
Ack! As reported on another thread, my TC 3-in-1 report is all messed up regarding my re-aged AMEX TLs, because Experian didn't change the 'Start Date' back (as TangMeister said might happen). Plus, now my PLAT is under 'Installment Accounts' on my 3-in-1 (for TU & EQ, re-aged), but as a separate 'Revolving' line for EX (not re-aged). And my AMEX SkyMiles is just split between TU & EQ (re-aged) and EX (not) under 'Revolving Credit'.
Sigh!!!! I've just disputed the 'Date Opened' on these accounts with EX. Hopefully all can be straightened out before my next 3-in-1 pull in a month.
It takes a little while for it to correct itself. I still have my blue reporting as two separate accounts but dates on both have been updated so on EQ it looks like I have four AMEX accounts instead of three. I left that alone. EDIT to add: as of my last report June 2009, the blue corrected itself. Now reporting correctly.
EX took me 5 months before it was corrected. And that was 3 disputes and constant calls to AMEX credit bureau reporting dept. Each continually blamed the other. AMEX said it was because of an AU card that would still report as the original date opened. This was BS, the AU card had long since been closed. Anyway, I was told by AMEX that they recently started reporting each card as a separate account number so your problem should clear up faster.
Give it 60 days then check your actual reports. I have CCT and their reporting of changes such as this are not that good to say the least. They dont seem to be that good in matching up the account number scrambling. I have quiet a few accounts printing in different places. What can you do, its cheap and its a daily puller. Sure wish truecredit would bring back their daily pull service again.
For me, the re-aging was worth every annoying phone call.
