Well I just pulled my EQ report no change on the Amex--still listed as opened in 2008. I guess I need to give it more time. On the positive side even though I have added a new account (Mortgage refi) and my % Utilization is 2% instead of way below 1% my EQ score is still 813 (and has been since Sept last year).
I think I will just keep pulling CreditKarma daily until I see the AAoA change--then I will pull my TU--should cross the 800 barrier :-)
What is the fax number you used to send your Experian report?
I have called card replacement twice and they can't find my 1986 account but they could find my 1996 account. So they only re-aged my Clear and Starwoods to 1996. I would love to reage them to 1986.
Or should I leave it alone? I did dispute with Experian the opening dates but they only fixed the Starwood date, the Clear still shows 2006 as the opening date.
Thanks.
Success! I pulled my TU report and my AMEX has been reaged and reported to the CRA (at least to TU). My Tu Fico jumped from 798 to 810. I am officially a member of the 800 club (EX has historically been my mid score).
One little bonus I did not know about, but Hauling mentioned the other day. AMEX only changes your "member since" year. My original Amex was opened in May 1993 my new card was opened Feb 2008. Upon reaging my "new" card has a date of Feb 1993. So if one really wanted to increase age as much as possible you could open a new Amex in Jan and you could gain as much as 11 additional months depending on when your original Amex was opened.
Thanks again to everyone for their help and suggestions and for giving me the motivation to keep pestering Amex about this.
Cheers.
Congrats cobaltnv (on the corrected TL and on the 810 FICO).
I pulled my TrueCredit 3-in-1 report today and the AMEX TLs are all posted correctly now.
My new AmEx card arrived today. I promptly called card replacement trying to back date the account. The CSR put me on hold for 5 minutes while trying to locate the old account number in the system. I knew it didn't exist anymore, so after she came back on, I told her that I had old credit reports and orginal invoices showing the account and the opening date. She told me that they could only back date the account if I had the orginal card (I didn't). I said thanks and hung up.
I immediately called back and tried again. This CSR said "no problem" and changed the member since date to 1988. She didn't even ask for the old account number or for me to fax her proof! I logged on and sure enough, it had been updated. Since it is a new account, hopefully it will report correctly the first time it reports.
This moves my credit history from 11y 5m to 21y. WOOHOO! I'll let you know if there is a score change associated. I've lost 16 points for 4 inquiries in the last 30 days. Just wait until the 4 new accounts report.
