It would have been a miracle if you did - they didn't open until March '07  Smiley Very Happy

Oh cool, I think that is when I found this forum. That means I only have one disappointment.

Re: 2007-Triumphs and Disapointments

Triumphs:

completely overhauled finances:
-- Paid off all Credit cards
-- Reduced student loan debt by 50%
-- Saved 2 month's Salary
-- Got all Fico Scores above 700
-- Learned my spending habits, and developed a budget to tame them
-- Graduated from college (and thus ended all new bills!)

Dissapointments:
-- 7 inquiries on Experian will take 1-2 years to go away
-- One PIF student loan servicer being obstinate about not removing 60-day late
-- Realized how expensive it is to own and operate even my small, paid for car
-- Realized how much i spent on purchasing credit reports
-- Realized how much money I wasted on a gym membership I rarely used

Re: 2007-Triumphs and Disapointments

2007 Triumphs:

- Mid-October, Found this wonderful forum and very knowledgeable people
- Started working on repairing my own credit
- Had (1) 30 day late mortgage payment removed (disputed as never late)
- Had CA (which had a balance of $1136) removed (DV)
- Had a CC (that was IIB but still showing a balance of $113) removed
- Equifax score was 634 in April 2007, now score is 682 (haven't pulled TU and EX Ficos)
- Received pre-qualify offer for Juniper Platnum Mastercard last week
- Applied for Juniper MC and was approved (now I have 3 CCs) YEA!!!!!
- Total utilization is 5%

2007 Disappointments:

- Equifax is too stubborn to remove a Ch13 that dismissed in 2000 (TU & EX removed already)

2008 Goals:

- Join the 700 Club (or 800, I'll take it!)
- Get MyFico scores for TU and EX (Fakos- TU 636, EX 657, EQ 619)
- Re-fi mortgage for lower rate
- Keep utilization on CCs at or below 9%
- Use cash as often as possible
- Continue to monitor my credit and know what's in my reports
- Not apply for any other credit cards unless I need it

Octavia.

Re: 2007-Triumphs and Disapointments

Triumphs

Some baddies removed from CRs
Paid off a few collections
Found My FICO and realized I needed to shape it up. I'm realizing I can "fix" it and keep going UP.
Increased scores from 477 area (I know) to 500's .. still bad but moving in the right direction..and I did all this since 11/30/07

Disapointments

Can't get anyone to do GW!!
Not able to get any kinda credit card (duh with my scores but still a bummer)

Goals 2008

I want to be in the 600's in the next few months.. currently I'm at 510, 564, 583. It could happen.
I want 1 credit card and a store card.
I want to be able to end the year in the 700 club...

Thanks guys for letting me put that down... I'm feeling better about it all the time.

Re: 2007-Triumphs and Disapointments

I would like to second that emotion ... Private Student Loans are most definitely PREDATORY!
Also concur that I had great luck disputing with Equifax. Had horrible luck disputing same accounts with Experian and now waiting on outcome with Transunion (not holding my breath). Also, have been attempting my hand at GW with Ford Credit & not very optimistic based on initial contacts.

Oh well ... As I have learned from this site ... I will continue the fight!
