30 day update

I started the process of cleaning up my credit about 30 days ago.  Here is what I have accomplished to date.  I'll pull my credit reports and FAKO scores again this weekend.  It'll be interesting to see if there are any positive changes.  I realize I am early in the game, but one can still hope can't they. Re: 30 day update

Good grief girl! You've been working your fingers to the bone!

You are definitely doing all you can. GOOD FOR YOU!

Your efforts have started paying off, with the 2 PFD's.

IMO, something very good is going to come from this. You have the self-discipline to take control of the situation, and stay on top of things.

Please keep us posted on your progress. (P.S. good post. very informative)

Re: 30 day update

Sylvia-

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  The hardest thing about this entire process is the shame associated with having bad credit.  Smiley Sad  I feel better knowing I am working to improve (1) my credit scores, (2) the way I use credit, and (3) the way I feel about credit.

DH and I were just married - in August.  While his credit is in a little better shape than mine, it still needs some work.  I plan on pulling both of our reports and scores this weekend and starting working on his report too.  Hopefully we'll be able to get a home of our own soon.

Re: 30 day update

Cathleen, I know you all will. Keep on keeping on doing what you're doing, and you'll get there.

And hush with beating yourself up on the past misdeeds. I'm climbing out of the hole I put myself into, too. I'd say a vast majority of us are or were in our same boat at one time or another.

Right now, I have a total of(blush) 34 lates on my CR's. And ALL of the CRA's are reporting those 34. most all of them occured last year(when I had a financial sinking spell)into feb. of '07. I'm just waiting for them to age a little more, before the GW's start appearing on their desk.

And many congrats on getting hitched! It's a wonderful life, and I wish you all, all the best. Smiley Happy

Wow, you have done so much in just 30 days! You should be proud of yourself whether the "baddies" come off or not.

Way to go!

Re: 30 day update

good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to put a damper on your hard work BUT.....keep in mind

#1  most states have no SOL on hospital bills....other medical bills yes they have SOL

#2  I have never heard of a CRA delete because of a CA not licened in your state...I had that and reported them to the AG in my state & in theirs. But the CRAs ignored it.

You can also report them to www.ftc.gov   CAs know where they must be licensed    they just hope that people have no idea and will pay them anyway.

roflmao   I love it that the CAs are all past SOL

Re: 30 day update

Everyone - thank you for your kind words, I'll keep everyone posted and hopefully will be able to post my story of success soon (and help others once I'm a little more comfortable with the ins and outs of this game).

#1  All but one of these accounts were actually through a doctor's office that was managed by the hospital.  In your opinion, would these accounts be subject to SOLs or would there be no SOLs since they weren't technically the hospital just managed by the hospital?  The offices were not located in the same town as the hospital.

#2  I've sent PFDs for all the accounts to the OC in addition to disputing the accounts with the CRAs.  I just want them gone.  Maybe I should DV with the CA, what would you suggest?
