30 days past due question

If a payment is due on the first of this month which I paid on 3/1 but I was already past due from 2/1-technically since February is 28 days thus making the payment 28 days late but I paid on March 1st due date-will it still count as a missed payment and hit my report even though it was only 28 days late not 30 days due to February being a short month?

Re: 30 days past due question

You're not technically 30 days late unless you made the payment on day 31(3/3/23) after the due date. So in your example you should be OK as far as your CR but with the exception of getting a late fee from your issuer.

Re: 30 days past due question

That's what I thought-Thank You!

It was my mortgage payment. We got hit by a large house repair 2 months ago and got behind on stuff. Thankfully I got a lot of over time at work and able to get it all caught up and posted my payments yesterday. I just didnt want a late payment for my mortgage on my report.

Last payment having to pay an extra 350 for escrow due to my taxes being raised and going negative escrow. Going to enjoy that 350.00 going into savings after I pay other stuff off.

You should be good but... bad boy for not having... (or tapping) the emergency fund.  Cut back k for a spell and put away 3-6 months of expenses in an easy-access account and use it for this type of stuff because... life 🤣

It's 30 days.  Not one month.

If you have enough equity, get a HELOC, and only use it for emergency house stuff.
It doesn't cost you anything if you don't draw from it.

Back to gardening until Late February 2026.
