60 day late posted on 2 agencies (Equi/Trans) and not on Experian - ADVICE PLEASE!

I had a mortgage w/Washington Mutual in 2000 - that was an ARM - Neg Am - the monthly payment jumped over $2000 a month and I was forced to sell the property.

I informed WAMU that I was going to sell the property and that the escrow was 90 days. I was unable to make the full payment and continued to pay my regular payment on time while disputing the outrageous increase.

They initially reported a 60 day late - but then later reversed it.

My question is why does Trans and Equi still show it as 60 days and not Experian.

Should I inquire about this or am I apt to have Experian put it back on my report?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

do you have anything from the bank stating that they were going to remove the late report, or did they just do it? if you have a letter, then try disputing with the CRA's stating that the OC agreed to remove. If they did it on their own, you may consider writing a GW that inlcudes a thank you for the removal and a request to update the other 2. Any pro's want to weigh in?

Frankly, I just noticed it today - and it was so long ago I will have to check my file when I get home from work.

I believe they did it as a "courtesy" - not sure if I have a letter or worked with someone directly at the bank. But my file will detail that. Of course, if I have a letter I can just forward it to the other two agencies - but I am concerned that there is no letter then if I bring it up - it my go back on Experian.

I totally understand that. I'm in the same boat with a JUDGEMENT. It might be worth taking the chance, especially if it's older. Hopefully your files contain something that will help you nail it down. Good luck!!

How long ago is "so long ago?" You might want to leave it alone if it was more than 2 years ago, as it is not affecting your scores that much. AND... they might just update EX and put it on there. leave it be if it old.

It is from 2000 - but it looks like they put on it on the 2 reports in 2004.

Leave it alone. It is not affecting your scores that much, if at all.
