7 Year Clock

When does the 7 year clock start for when items will be removed from your report?

I closed several accounts in January 2004, but continued to pay them off thru 2007. So - my date closed and last payment dates on my reports are different.

Re: 7 Year Clock

The time begins running from the DOFD. When you went delinquent.

Closed, positive accounts remain for 10 years.

Re: 7 Year Clock

The CRTP is the length of time a bad item can stay on your CR. It is roughly 7 years, give or take 180 days. This date is determined by the OC and it is the date of first delinqency which caused it to become negative and was never brought to a positive status again. TU and EX use the DOFD, EQ uses DOLA.
