700 club...but it's a mistake!

I got an alert that my score jumped 15 pts. Woo hoo! But um wait- it's because of a credit card was paid off...but it wasn't.

It's my credit union CC and I used it to transfer balances a year ago and it's my highest balance. About 4100 of a 5000 limit. Eq reported it zero. Ugh!

Next month I guess I will have to deal with a big score drop when it correctly reports. Anyone have this happen?

Never... although since 2020 nothing surprises me.  Little errors on a temporary basis are much more common than most of us know however,  so definitely believable.

Congrats on the Temporary score boost?  😁

I've been around these forums long enough to know better. I got the alert from credit karma and I pulled my free annual report. Sure enough, reported zero. EQ is the only one that updated with that card and of course I double checked my statement balance- on the statement it's all there.

Ugh... EQ... I hate them... like literally. There is no end to their ability to mess things up.  Crazy.

On the other hand, if they are going to screw something up I'm glad it's in my favor at least! Maybe i need to apply for something good in the next 30 days and take advantage of it Smiley Very Happy

@KateInquiresI only asked a simple question where you saw it. Regardless how long you been on here.

@FireMedic1 no worries, I understand!

*UPDATE* it wasn't an equifax issue- my trans is now 715 as well. So my bank screwed up the reporting I guess! Because my statement definitly shows a big old balance. Yikes.

*UPDATE*

Welp! It was fun while it lasted! Had an alert this morning that my experian dropped 17 pts. Utilization went from 17% to 42%. My del one credit card balanced was corrected offcycle.

Not a total loss- I was approved for the M&T rewards visa while my score was in the 700's. Hopefully my AMEX and Chase don't take AA on me now! My wild ride is over ..I guess I need to actually pay that balance down Smiley Happy
