Just want to make SURE on this one:
My husband has a AAoA of 6 years. I have two cc's (Discover and Wells Fargo) that have a perfect payment history, and low/no balance (Discover $0 and WF under 10%), and are both 10 years old. If I add him as an AU, will it raise his score? I want to make sure it will show as date opened and not when he was added as an AU. I talked to a CSR at Discover and, though not sure, she thought it would report when he was added.
Any clarity would be appreciated! I don't want to make his score worse, trying to make it better.

Yes it can help IF the account is older than any of his, IF the payment history is long and clean, IF the utilization is very low, and IF it will report to the CRA's. Not all cards will do this. You need to ask the company first. He will inherit the entire history of this account. One caveat however; if this account starts to go south his credit will be affected as well. Keep that in mind.
