ACS CONSTANTLY running INQs...

How is it INQs can hurt our scores yet CAs can INQ all willy nilly?

ACS has INQ my CR 3 times in the last year!  There's got to be a law against that!

Re: ACS CONSTANTLY running INQs...

Happy,

These are INQs on my freecreditreport EX CR and they don't distinguish what's hard or soft.  Far as I can tell they are soft.  I will have to look again.

Re: ACS CONSTANTLY running INQs...

Interesting question... I too was wondering this, as WFNNB/Brylane did a hard inquiry apparently in January....I have a  PIF WFNNB/Newport News acct and a WFNNB/Chadwicks acct I just paid off 2/22/08....wondering why they did a hard inq....going to be watching this thread very closely for any helpful info from the wonderful people here....

I have the WFNNB/VS card and get softs occasionally from their other companies.

Re: ACS CONSTANTLY running INQs...

ACS did 3 inquiries on my credit this past year and they were HARD pulls for sure according to myFICO Experian report. If you are wondering who they are... It is a part time collection company in Dallas, TX that sells carpets/flooring as well (imagine that). The main jerk-o who does credit there goes by "Gary" and he actually said "blow me" when I told him to provide proof of the supposed "debt". He didn't listen and I went after him with my attorney and has since backed off. It's a big fraud deal.

If you are meaning that you pull from freecreditreport.com's monitoring service, mine only showed hard inquiries. Soft inquiries are not shown on that report, or not for me.
