ADVICE PLEASE

Ok so im a little over my heasd and need advice.

I do not want to file BK but may have no choice.

below is me debt

Capital One  Amt owed  1950.00  limit  2000.00  monthly payment  54.00

Chase # 1    Amt owed  2550.00 limit  2600.00  monthyl paymen   76.00

Chase # 2    Amt owed 11904.00  limit 13200.00  monthly payment 300.00  In hardship program 6%

At&t universal  Amt owed  13700.00   limit 13800.00  monthly payment 250.00

Macys      Amt owed 1400.00  limit 5000.00  monthly payment 50.00

Dell         Amt owed 350.00  limit 5000.00    monthly payment 15.00

Lowes      Amt owed 850.00  Limit 950.00   Monthly payment 25.00

Santander   Amt owed 13900.00  limit 13900.00  Monthly payment 370.88  Car loan

I make good money and have never been late on any of these things but I am tired of living paychek to paycheck with nothing to show for it.  I have negotiated with Chase to lower my limit to 6 % and cancel the card they automotically take the money out of my account on the 1st.  But paying 1000-1200 a month on credit card debt is just killing me.  How should I address this situation.  The little cards are no problem paying and in all reality I just need to get rid of 1 of the big ones how can i do this.  I also have a mortagae and a second mortgage that i pay 1900.00 a month on

Re: ADVICE PLEASE

I would pay off some of the smaller cards first, then take that money and apply it to the ones with higher balances.

Once they are paid off, only use one card and PIF each month.

Re: ADVICE PLEASE

Problem is I am paying the minimums on the small cards cause I cannot afford anymore and I am getting no where.  The only card I am seeing any head way ids the Chase that I cancelled its gone from owing 13200 to 11900 but that card is closed

Re: ADVICE PLEASE

Is there any way the other CC would be willing to reduce your interest rate without a payment plan?

Never close a CC with a balance.  It still counts in your utilization.

Re: ADVICE PLEASE

I would call each of your CC companies and see if they are offering so type of hardship relief. Not a payment plan but if you pay a certain percentage of your total balance they will pay, or credit your account for the remaining balance. I've had some of my CC companies make that offer through the mail. It's worth the shot.

Re: ADVICE PLEASE

All great advice.  Listen to these guys and avoid BK if at all possible.  Take it from me that just recently got out from under the 10 year reporting rule on my CRAs.  It is tough with a BK.  You have taken the right 1st step and acknowledged the issue.  No use this forum and its people and tackle those debts one at a time.  Call the CCCs and see if they will work with you to lower interest rates to help.  Most will to get their money.  Best wishes.
