AFNI

Account Information A new account has appeared on your credit report.
Here are the details of this new account:
Reported By: Equifax Reported On: 08/21/2007 Date Opened: 01/01/2006 Account Number: CINGULAR- Creditor's Name: ANDERSON FIN NETWORK/BLOOM Industry Type: Address: 404 Brock Dr Bloomington, IL 61702-3097
Every other day I get an alert saying that this new account is showing on my cr.  This is a collection account and nothing has changed on it.  I have not paid it because they have not responded to my PFD from July 1.  Is this hurting my scores?

Re: AFNI

I hope not, I disputed them on my CR, and they have reported new to EQ about 9 times this month, no noticable drop in my scores, or anything, and no new info.

Just being a pain in the A$$.

but what CA isn't.

Re: AFNI

If they didn't respond after this long to a PFD it's time to DV and fast. Here's my DV letter:......  Be sure to send a print out of the account too.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to request a validation of debt of the enclosed account. By law you are required to provide proof that you own/or have been assigned this debt, complete payment history starting with the original creditor, a copy of original signed contract, and proof that your company is licensed to collect such debt. All of these requirements must be sent directly to the above listed address within 30 days from the date this letter is received. I will confirm delivery date with delivery confirmation from USPS. If all requirements can not be met in the 30 days allowed

  • You are not allowed to collect the debt,
  • You are not allowed to contact me about the debt, and
  • You are also not allowed to report it under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Doing so is a violation of the FCRA, and the FCRA states that I can sue for $1,000 in damages for any violation of the Act.

FDCPA Section 809. Validation of debts [15 USC 1692g]

(b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.

I DVed  them and they immediately sent me information verifying my account.  But the problem is they duplicated my account and will not delete any of it.  They keep verifying it.  AFNI is the scum of all CA's.  Just Google their name.  I am in the process of taslking to a lawyer about a possible lawsuit against their A$$.  Also search this site.  Many of us have been having problems with them.

Re: AFNI

I found an older credit report that AFNI had a different aging on my account.  The older report has AFNI first reporting Dec 2005 due to fall off 2011 and the second has them reporting July 2007 due to fall off 2013.  Whenever I disputed, AFNI kept verifying.  Today I faxed both to transunion to see if they can delete or correct.  I will mail if I don't hear anything in 2 weeks.
