Yes there is but if it's the optima card it will only take you a few months to get them to convert it to a blue.....

So it sounds like the blue is better than the Optima.
I hope they send me the blue.  Then again, I guess I should just be thankful that they're giving me this chance.  Have you experienced a similar situation or know someone who has?  Do you know on average about how much this will effect my fico score?  Just wondering Smiley Happy

Blue is definitely a better card. I don't know anybody who has gone through your situation but I somebody in my family who would. Did you have to contact them at all to get the offer?

Can't help you on the FICO part. If they removed all the bad info from your last card and it was recent, you could see a nice gain from lates being removed etc though....

Re: AMEX. Do I call or send letter.

I received a letter from them a couple of weeks ago.  When I spoke to the agent, I wanted to make sure that if I pay my balance in full they will report that I had paid off my balance in full and that they would remove the collection on my account.  He said it would be done within 30-60 days of payment.  I then asked again, so the collection will be removed?  B/c I remember it being with collection and now you guys (Amex) are making me this offer?  The agent then told me that since collection couldn't collect on the account, Amex took it back.  The funny thing about all this is I don't even remember it going over to collection.  I don't remember receiving any phone calls or letters regarding my account.  I honestly thought it just disappeared, that is until I received this letter.
For the last two years I've been working on trying to rebuild my credit.
I get so mad at myself when I think back to what a moron I was.  I had perfect credit and then for about 2 1/2 years I screwed up all my credit and have been trying to fix it for the last two.
Now I only have one more thing to work on...and that's the biggest issue and probably going to be the hardest one for me to fix.  My judgement with Chase Smiley Sad

Re: AMEX. Do I call or send letter.

When you say "apply for an Amex card" do you mean an AMEX Charge card or another one of their credit cards.  I've had their blue card for almost 2 years now and i'm wondering if I should be using a different card with them or not.  Since i've had them i've been able to successfully lower my apr with them 2x and they've given me 3 different cli's, so I'm definitely not complaining!
