Hello!
I have a question regarding credit history for authorized users. I got married a few months ago, and my husband had literally no credit history before we got married. We opened a joint credit card in December, because I have good enough credit to get pretty good rates, so that account will probably be reporting on his CR near the middle of the year, correct?
I have another credit card, which I had before we got married, which has been open for years. If I add my husband as an authorized user to that account, my question is when will this credit card show up on his CR? Will it still be six months from when I add him as an authorized user, or will it show up sooner than that because the account as been open for a while?
Thank you for any help that you can provide!

I just asked my Father to add me as an AU to help me with my "length of history" he called Amex March 10th and added me as an AU and on the 16th of March it had already showed up on my Experian CR.
I had called Amex and asked them when I should expect to see it listed on my EQ and TU reports and they said within 30 to 60 days, I am really hoping by the "end of the billing cycle" 20th of April I will see Amex on my other two reports.
I had a 3.9 year length of history before the Amex (opened in 1984) showed up on my EX report and now I have a 6.9 year length of history.
Best of luck!
It should show up the next time the CCC updates with the CRAs.
Not every CCC reports an AU to the CRAs.
Thank you both for your responses! We will be checking his CR in a few weeks to see if anything has appeared.
Thanks again!
