AU not reporting

Hello, 5 monthes ago my fiance added me as an AU on her credit card (clothes store visa). As of 2 monthes ago, the card had not been showing on my CR as reporting. I had forgotten to activate the card. After doing so the card has still yet to report (checked last week). Is it suppose to take this long? Do I need to use the card to get it reporting? I will admit that Im on the card purely to help establish my credit score, but I have been paying her card bill for 2 years, so I feel my "piggybacking" is justified. Is there anything Im missing? Or do some companies just not report AU's?? Thank you for your time and help. Smiley Happy

Welcome to the forums.

This is true. Not every CCC will report AU's. You might contact this particular one and see if they will. It might just be a clerical error on their part. But definitely call them.

Re: AU not reporting

I added my bro to three accounts (JCP, CareCredit, Walmart) and NONE will report him as an AU - it's been at least 2 months, maybe 3.

I added my husband to these same accounts, and all reported within a couple of weeks.  I know another person here whose grandmother's accounts will not report her AU status.  My dad added me to his Visa back in the day, and it never reported, either.  ALL of these banks said they did report AU's.  But they didn't.  Or maybe they did but the bureau's arent letting them?

When I was going through the VISA card the CU was trying to add me on the Eoscar system and it wouldn't let her manually do it. She said she just had to wait for it to "pick it up on it's own."

I don't know whose to blame, the banks, eoscar, or the bueaus.  I personally think that my husband's got reported so quickly because we have the same last name and same address.  It also worked very quickly when he added me as an AU to his Lowe's.

Re: AU not reporting

I'm an AU on several of DH's accounts, and only one reports.  Same last name and same address.

For us:

BofA does.

Alliant CU doesn't.

Cabelas doesn't.

USBank 1-2-3  (Smith's/Kroger's) doesn't

DH is an AU on my Macy's and it didn't report for a long time - almost two years, and then suddenly it did.

Re: AU not reporting

Thanks for the replies. Im going to try to contact the CCC and ask them whats going on. Getting this card would almost double my credit availability, and lengthen my credit history. So I really want to try and solve the issue with them. Im just curious if the company will ever end up reporting at all, or if they will just take forever.
