Me, attempting AZEO...
Day before close-
CapOne QS: "Your balance is $0."
That night-
Amazon: "Here's your monthly Prime charge!"
CapOne QS: *immediately closes with $6 statement balance*
Me: "😫"
Next card, day before close-
CapOne Plat: "Your balance is $0."
That night-
Apple, busting in like Terry Crews: "Surprise mother trucker! Here's a charge for that free trial monthly subscription you forgot to cancel!"
CapOne Plat: *immediately closes with $10 statement balance*
Me: "😫"
Next card, day before close-
Disco: "Your balance due is $0."
That night-
Netflix enters the chat: "LOL!"
Disco: *immediately closes with $15 statement balance*
Me: "😫"
Dammit.
Bummer, but the good news is, you can try to get it right next month ![]()

Yes they make it difficult to maintain zero balances. In my experience the only way to get them to report at zero is to push payments from other sources sufficient to cover any possible new charges.

@SouthJamaica I hadn't thought about that! Will give it a go. I was going to move all my recurring charges to one card, but if I end up with too many surprises (all my cards are low limits) I might end up with high utilization on that card.

Lol, if you really want to have fun try with a Synchrony card![]()
@AverageJoesCredit Sync and I had a nasty breakup several years ago with no hope for reconciliation. 😂
When I did AZEO a few years ago I made sure to not have any monthly subscription or autopay charges going to Cap1 cards. Back then I couldn't figure it out and finally caught on to their scheme. Cap1 will hold a statement if they know a charge is pending or an recurring monthly charge will hit. I have no issues with me USB or Discover cards with this as their statements drop like clock work for me but more than once I have noticed Cap1 delaying dropping a statement until a charge posts so that I have a balance. They do not like zero balance accounts at all very much preferring those who generate interest.
@Cowboys4Life That's exactly what happened to me! My statement usually closes on the 15th or 16th, but for the first time closed on the 17th this month.
