Acc't closed by credit grantor -vs- consumer

My DH had a Kay account from 1992... in 2006, after five years with no action, I called & had the account closed.

Now that acc't is listed as closed at credit grantor's request, instead of closed at consumer's request.

I've heard this does not affect your score directly, but when a lender reviews your reports, acc'ts closed by credit grantor make them trust you less than acct's closed by consumer. Is this true?

I want to know if it is worth it to write them to have this corrected.

You have assessed correctly. I would call Kay and have this corrected...Not the CRAs though, they will look at it as a dispute and possibly delete the entire TL.

Honestly, I don't care if they do delete, Byrd Smiley Wink He was as much as 120 days late in the mid-90's when he was going through a divorce, so it's a scar on our credit anyway!
Thanks for the advice... I will proceed & ask for status change. Maybe they'll just delete it!

Just remember ivy that the baddies are from the mid '90s. They are gone from the history. Speaking of history, it has to be helping you an awful lot. Don't act too hastily with that one.
