Account Details- Question

First time poster!  Trying to re-build. Smiley Happy  2 questions:

I have an auto loan which is joint with my ex.  Long story short, I gained possession of the vehicle through a restraining order.  This was 3+ years ago.  He had fallen behind on the payments.  While I was attempting to play catch up, the lender found the vehicle and repossessed it.  I paid the past due amount owed and got the vehicle back.  I've been making payments on it ever since.  However, my credit report does not reflect that.  It's showing closed/Charge-off with no payment history.  I've disputed it a few times but nothing changes.  Is this reporting correctly?

Secondly, we had a house which went into foreclosure.  It was sold Aug 2014.  One one report, it's showing Foreclosure (Experian) and on TU, it's showing 120+ past due.  Is this reporting correctly?

Thanks!

Re: Account Details- Question

If the creditor is now accepting regular payments under the terms of you loan agreement, the account is Open, and not Closed.

Installment loans are not closed until paid or termination of regular installment payments is made via a demand for full payment of the remaining balance based on default on the loan.

Reporting that the loan as closed when they have agreed to restore installment payments under your account agreement would thus be inaccurate.  I would first contact them informally and get the current status updated from closed to pays as agreed.

It is likely a simple reporting oversight on their part to which they should readily agree to correct.

However, if at any time in its prior payment history, it was charged-off or any delinquencies were reported, those derogs can continue to show in your prior payment history.  Only the current status would no longer be reportable as delinquent.

If for some reason the creditor has removed derogs from prior payment history profile reporting, I would not dispute it.

While they normally would not delete prrior payment history derogs, I would not complain if they did.
