Accounts fall off when?

Do accounts fall of 7 years from the date of last activity? I have 5l old accounts from 1998 that have been taken care of in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Will these go away in 7 years from those dates? I've tried a few GW letters to get them to fall off, but I think I may have to wait until 2010, 2011 and 2012. Agree? Also, how much weight does this play on my 661 Fico - which has gone up thanks to things I've learned here (deletions, disputes, etc) Everything in the last 3 years is perfect. No collections, etc. I'm wondering if I shouldn't worry about these too much. Anyone?

Closed accounts fall off after 10 years.

Baddies are no longer counted after 7-7.5 years
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

7.5 years from DOFD, Date of First Delinquency. That is when the accounts fell 120 or more days Late. I got accounts that I opened in 2003 but fell delinquent in 2005ish. They don't fall off until 2012.

Great info - Thanks you guys. By the way, it's 5 old accounts, not 51. Typo! haha I guess I'll just be patient and focus on the good stuff Smiley Happy
