I received an alert on Credit Sesame (TransUnion) this morning saying "congrats, a creditor reported you paid your balance to 0."
Name: Southern Commerce Bank
I don't have an account with Southern Commerce Bank and had a hard time finding info on them.
I pulled an updated TransUnion report of Credit Karma, the transunion site where I pay for monitoring and I even paid 20 for a TransUnion report on Myfico and all three of them do not have this creditor anywhere on my reports.
Is it possible the alert from Credit Sesame was an error?
thank you

Credit Sesame sends me alerts on my mortgage all the time. I never had a mortgage. Ever. In my entire life.
I print false alerts out and mail them to the FTC, BBB and CPFB now.
Credit sesame is the scammiest of Vantage score providers. I’d like to see them bankrupt from their scammy messages and alerts.
Wow. That's crazy. They should absolutely get sued for this. Problem is, there have to be damages. So, this would need to come from a State Attorney to get them to stop doing business under false pretenses.
I can't believe they would take advantage of such sensitive data by deliberately making false statements to promote their business... in light of all of the potential damage fraudulent accounts can do to a consumer's reputation.
