Re: Alliant Credit Union Loan Help

I've just started the Alliant 6o month share-secured loan and can confirm there is no HP.

Also, I'll point out that when you go online to fill iut the app for the loan, they ask for reasons you are seeking the loan and one of the reasosn is: "To improve my credit." So obviously they are perfectly aware of why people seek these types of loans and don't have a problem with it.

As Alliant also has FANTASTIC interest rates on its checking and savings AND you can open both with SPs, I've decided to have a serious relationship with Alliant and put my current union on ice.

Re: Alliant Credit Union Loan Help

Thanks WestRiver and OH!  I am following your experience with great interest.

I just posted a question to you guys (including WestR, OleH, SlimShady, etc.) about the Alliant technique over on another thread.

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/Should-I-get-an-installment-loan/m-p/4438...

I hope to put together in the next few weeks a simple set of instructions for how to implement the technique at Alliant.  I am just trying to nail down a few final questions (specifically the question of what is needed to keep the account active and therefore fee-free).
