Good Morning all.
I have a questions regarding aging on Amex from the time that I opened my first account. I have 6 closed Amex cards closed but they are in good standing. The first Amex card I received was in 1991.
I have a couple charge offs and a defaulted student loan that I am taking care of before I apply for more credit. When I take care of these I plan on applying for an Amex card again. If approved will my credit aging history improve and will it show that I have been a member since 1991 .

Your card will likely have "member since 1991" on it.
Your credit report will have the date the new card was actually opened. Amex hasn't backdated accounts in years.
Thank you figured it was a lonG shot
Yeah that was a fun time (member since 1987 here), but @dragontears was exactly right.

Yes it will normally show when you first opened the Amex card
Yeah Amex stopped backdating accouns since 2015. I had the same senecio, I've been a member since 1993 but recently opened a new card in 2019....I was 4 years too late to get my account backdated...what a bummer!
