im curious how does amex report your information when you have no present limit? How will this affect my overall dti? Example i have a limit of 50k but use 25 so that would be 50% usagw etc... thanks!!
For utilization purposes charge cards do not report. The highest balance will be seen but that's about it. Note this is just for the newer models like FICO 8/9. Do believe older scoring models like FICO 2/4 (mortgage scores) still factor it in
When used for DTI purposes I'm assuming they'll take the current reporting balance and factor it in with the rest of the information. So if you're worried about that I would keep a closer eye on your charge card balances
What is the $50k limit you are referencing?
Charge cards are not counted in your utilization for newer scores. For older scores, they took your highest reported balance and used that as your reported limit.
I believe you might be confusing DTI and utilization. DTI is how much your monthly debt payments are relative to your income.
Your Pay Over Time (POT) limit does not report to the CB's and is not factored into UTIL like other common Credit Card (revolvers)
When I've carried a POT balance, it reports just as @simplynoir stated.

For me when I charged on my Plat about $1500 and I selected the pay over time option after about 2 months I think it reported on my credit report as I owe that amount. But it did not show a credit limit like a normal card does. It just showed I owed that amount. Now if I had charged that and just paid it off that same month before my statement or what have you then nothing would have shown on my credit report. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you all so much thats very interesting and new to me!! I appreciate it ![]()
