Amex rewards website headache

Hi

I have blue cash Amex everyday. I went to check how much I spent on groceries, gas and online purchases as they reward me 3% up to $6000 in purchases.

Then they drop me to 1% so I switch to a different card that gives me 2%.

Last time I checked which is a while ago, they will have the amount spent, like:

Gas : $561.32 of $6000

groceries $5438.00 of $6000

Online purchases: $1098.90 of $6000

(Numbers are bogus).IMG_6221.jpg

Now they have like a graphic (Pictured) with bars that are colored but they don't tell you actually how much you spent in each categories. YOU CAN'T CLICK NOWHERE ON THE GRAPH besides the "i" for info which is not what I need.

I chatted with an Amex agent, useless. They gave me the 3 figures I was looking for, but I said "How do I find those actual numbers myself?"

She said "You are on the app and you can't see this on the app"

Me "I am not on the app but my laptop"

her "Just go to "Rewards and benefits"

Me "Ok Thanks, bye"

(When I get nowhere with chats, I just politely say thanks and leave, as I get aggravated).

Where did she think I was under? Under "Carpaccio recipes?", I was of course under "Rewards and benefits".

I and my wife we looked everywhere on the laptop and on our phone Amex apps. Can't find this info, just the useless graphic.

If someone can point me to this info I appreciate it.

Thxs a lot

Re: Amex rewards website headache

First, I feel your frustration.  To get your YTD grocery spend, while you're under the $6000 cap earning 3%, just divide your earned cashback by .03

In the example where the earn has been $20.56, dividing by .03 gives you a category spend of $685.33

Second, since you appear to max your grocery spend each year, you really should consider upgrading to Amex Cash Preferred ($95 annual fee).

You'll earn $180 add'l cashback on your grocery spend.   That's equivalent to getting a category boost to 4.5% on $6000, with no annual fee.  (obviously the actual terms are 6% cb/$95 Ann fee).

Any other benefits from the Cash Preferred that you take advantage of are pure gravy.

Hi

Thanks for the formula to figure out what I spent. I didn't know about the other Amex card you mentionned and it definitely seems to be a better deal.

Thanks a lot for your help

Perhaps what OP is looking for? Android app Rewards tab immediately redirected via this cumbersome path:

Rewards>Redeem Rewards>Explore what you can do with Rewards dollars>Rewards Summary>Your Rewards Dollars Activity..(at this point can view unbilled to-date, or specify a date range).
