Another judgement question

Hello everyone. I've been viewing the forums for a couple of weeks now. I want to say thank you. I've found a wealth of information here and so much of it I would not have known had I not stubbled on to this site.

I do have a question about judgements. My husband and I are in the process of divorce. His handling of finances is a big part of our problems. About 3 years ago he was hospitalized. For whatever reason he never got around to paying the portion of the bill that was left after insurance. At that time he handled all the finances and I wasn't aware of all that was going on. It ended up going to judgement. He didn't allow me to go to court with him. He told me it was in his name and didn't affect me (yep--I do know now how nieve I was).

Anyway, after he got back from the hearing I was told that the judge basically threw it out and told the hospital they'd have to work with my husband on repayment. He told me there was no judgement and even if there was, it wouldn't be on me.

Well, guess what? Since we've been seperated I've had this need to learn about my credit. I'm really hoping to buy a house by the end of the year. But when I pulled my report I have this judgement on there. To top it off, I was going through some receipts the other day and I found this notice in the bottom of one of his drawers. It was this notice to me that this judgement had been entered.

This is getting longer than I intended so I'll cut it off here. I would just like to know if there's any way under these circumstances that I might be able to get this judgement removed. I still have a bankruptcy on there from 4 years ago but the judgement is what I believe will kill me.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Another judgement question

Had somewhat the same problem with my ex recently.  But we were already divorced when the suit came.  Had my lawyer enter a plea to have me taken off as a defendant, however, if the company refused to due that, there was a counter-suit against my ex from me against any charges or judgements that would have been filed against me.  You might see about having a judgement put against him for your grievance when you file your divorce.
