Another question regarding PFDs

If I have communicated with the CA before and even made a payment on the debt, should I include this section of the PFD sample letter in the PFD letter that I send:

"This letter is to inform you that the validity of this debt is disputed. I am not sure of the account number, as I have never heard from you regarding this account."

Can you dispute the validity of a debt you have more-less admitted was yours by making a payment?

Also, this same CA has 3 different accounts listed on my CR (all medical) and are seperate debts, should I send 3 seperate PFD letters or list all the accounts on one letter?

Thanks

I take it that you had or have a total of 4 accounts with this same CA.
You spoke to them about 1??? payment was made on 1??  is it paid off??

Re: Another question regarding PFDs

I have a total of 3 accounts with the same CA. They called me about 1 of them, I think it was the only one they had at the time, and I made a payment plan and made 1 or 2 payments and then fell on bad times and couldn't finish paying it off.

Re: Another question regarding PFDs

Ok, you started you SOL over with the payment on 1 account. Remember that PFD usually means PIF....I would send PFDand I would send all together BUT  each account on separate sheets of paper.

All wording is the same just change account #.  You should tell them that you will have certified check to them in approx. 10 days from the date that you receive their acceptance.

If accepted   send all seperate checks with account # AND write on check. PIF and deletion from CR!

Re: Another question regarding PFDs

Thank you, you are so smart. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't been up at 3am, unable to sleep because of debt, browsing the net and ran across this site. This has been such a big help for me. I was just going to pay all the collections and wait ever how many years until they fell off. Wouldn't have helped my score much if I'd done that. Now I know about DV, PFD, etc.

Thanks to everyone.

What helps is when another forum member also answers and it is a little different. The more people that answer the better for all of us. Different points of views.

Re: Another question regarding PFDs

If you send a PFD letter and offer them a settlement amount and they accept, can they still sell the remaining portion of the debt to another CA?

If so, what if you put in the PFD letter, that by accepting the offer they agree to delete from all CRA and not sell the remaining debt to another CA? or is this possible?

Thanks.

Re: Another question regarding PFDs

If you are using Tuscani's PFD letter, you will see that it says that the debt is staisfied....they can not seel it or turn it over to another CA!!!!!!

this is why it is so important to have in writting.
