Here are some interesting links that should help us to understand a bit better how the CRAs calculate our fico scores. There is some very interesting information in these.
I have only just begun checking out the links, but I find it interesting that on the TU pages for account designator codes, I find the definition for co-maker to be:
Co-maker: account in which the subject is a cosigner (no spousal relationship), who becomes liable if the maker defaults.
I am "co-maker" on a car loan that DH and I recently obtained. Why they listed us as "maker" and "co-maker" baffles me.
On the EX list of serious derogs, lates start with 90 day, rather than 60 day. I wonder if that's part of the reason that my EX has always been my highest score.
* Credit is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master. * Who's the boss --you or your credit? FICO's: EQ 781 - TU 793 - EX 779 (from PSECU) - Done credit hunting; having fun with credit gardening. - EQ 590 on 5/14/2007
EX is promoting their skip tracing products (wonder how that CA got your phone number?)... it's bad enough they collect info on us -- now they are selling it to CAs....
